[ Maybe they knew someone was on their tail. Maybe they had been intending to get rid of them some other way. Or maybe they hadn't been aware of an additional threat at all, their attention split between their more aggressive pursuers, whatever incredible stunts they were trying to pull off, or trying to keep their precious cargo safe.

Whatever the case, there's the sound of decisive blaster fire behind them, a cry and a thump of a body hitting the floor. When they turn around, Rex is right there, looking for the world like an exasperated housewife who found her precious errands day rudely interrupted. BB-8 may be an incredible droid but he can't fly, which means he's clipped on Rex's side in a harness made specifically for this reason, one arm is entirely occupied by bags, and his last remaining hand holding a recently-fired blaster. ]

We couldn't go one day without incident? [ He complains, as though he doesn't grow bored when things are actually peaceful for a few days at a time. ]

Right. So. Who'd I just shoot?

[ Force, but he loved the two of them. A grin split his lips as soon as Rex appeared, jogging over towards him and completely ignoring the body on the ground as if this was just a natural occurance. ]

Slavers. Trust me, we weren't trying to uncover a slave trafficking ring, but once you do it's a little too late to play nice.

[ He grabs some of Rex's bags and smacks a kiss on his cheek for his trouble. BB-8 gets one, too. To the droid: ]

They've probably got their own comm frequency, buddy- you might be able to scan for them while we get out of here. Or, you know, for no reason in particular, tell me what ships are theirs and where they can be blown u- I mean 'found'.

[ Andy doesn't spare the cooling body a glance either, instead waiting with one hand on her hip and the other still carrying their precious cargo. Still puffing away at that cigarette too — which has somehow miraculously remained right between her lips this entire time. Her only response is to lightly arch one eyebrow, her expression remaining rather bland. ]

For the record, this is not "meeting us at the ship." [ Dry as ever. But they all know that her "hard as durasteel" exterior doesn't mean she's not pleased to see Rex — or not amused that he should appear with a blaster in one hand and groceries in the other. ] And honestly, this only barely qualifies as an incident.

[ Her attention drifts past Rex and into the street behind them. ]

I hate to rush a reunion, boys, but I'd really like to get all the explosions done before lunch.

[ When Poe kisses him on the cheek, all Rex does is roll his eyes. Oh, sure, he likes it, and sure, he'd be disappointed if that wasn't the greeting he got, but that doesn't mean he's not going to roll his eyes anyway. ]

I can think of worse people to shoot.

[ He hadn't shot to kill, but he has very little tolerance for slavers. He shoots the prone figure again, this time in the head, before he unhooks BB-8 from his harness and lets him wheel freely beside Poe. ]

Besides, I'm not about to let you two have all the fun.

[ He strides up to Andy and unceremoniously shoves a couple of the bags at her. ]

You didn't happen to bring an extra blaster, did you?

[ He's already kneeling down to powow with BB-8, the droid chirping excitedly as it tracked down a hangar bay. ]

Oh, seriously? Well that makes it a little easier. Hey, guys - [ Turning his shoulder to look at his favourite two people in the universe. ] Turns out their main ship is only one hanger over from ours. A freighter called the Ragged Tear - corellian.

[ Andy sighs, but accepts her share of the burden, both arms now fully laden with bags as she starts off after Poe. Trust the three of them to somehow lump grocery shopping and blowing up slavers into one errand. ]

At least one member of this team knows what's going on. [ Andy's always been soft for Beebee though. ] Let's get this done. I owe those assholes for ripping my shirt.

[ At least the hangar shouldn't be too far from where they are — so long as they don't run into any more trouble. ]

I always have an extra blaster.

[ He always carries a couple of extra blasters. He's spent his entire life dual wielding and he has no intention of stopping carrying a ridiculous amount of weaponry on his person now. He hands his blaster over to Poe. ] Chromium-plated. Be good to her.

[ They probably shouldn't get into a fight with their hands full. Rex should probably put their groceries down so they can get in a fight. But he'd spent a long time shopping for these, damn it, and he'd spent all the credits alloted to them. If someone shoots their groceries, he's just going to have to rip them a new one. He falls into position behind Andy, as he always seems to. ]

So what's the plan?
